This course is for children over the age of six (as well as inner children) and families, we created it to help you explore and discover the benefits of meditation and creativity in your own life.

What You’ll Learn

Welcome to our 10-day journey to help you discover the joy of being yourself and living in the present moment. This journey will help you share your feelings, gifts, and life with loved ones and the world, develop self-reliance and shine your best at home and school. We hope your parents and teachers will join you on this magical journey and experience these special moments of life with you.

These meditations and creative sessions will help you connect with yourself, your life, and your sense of adventure and love. Each day, we will try out accessible and vibrant practices that you can tailor to your needs and preferences. We will also explore ways to express ourselves more creatively and learn how to feel and understand our emotions clearly. As a special bonus, we will also share a "word of the day" for you to reflect on. These practices will help you connect with and nurture your inner self.

These sessions are for young people aged 7-13, but they would also benefit grown-ups wishing to joyfully explore their lives, mind and feelings, or inner child.

This journey is based on one of the programmes that John has been sharing with children like yourself for over twenty-five years when visiting schools. The sessions have been so successful that they were featured on the BBC News.


Introduction

 

Session One - Learning My Breath

Today you will discover how important your breath is. Very few people know how vital their breath is. So today, you will learn how to begin meeting your amazing breath in a way that will make you feel happier and give you a better sense of yourself.

 

Session Two - Investigating Nature

In today’s session, we are going to get curious about nature. It doesn’t matter if you have a forest to walk in or only one blade of grass growing through the sidewalk to look at, it is all life, and that is what today is all about, seeing life in nature. Connecting with nature is the most fantastic teacher anyone can have; maths is great, writing is great, reading books is a miracle, and knowing how your body works and our society functions are essential. But being connected to the nature around you can show you something so special it is almost too hard to talk about - It can show us how to be.

 

Session Three - Relaxing at Bedtime

Please do this session when you get into bed. This simple meditation will take you through your body to help you feel safe and happy and float off to sleep in a lovely easy way so that you can rest, heal, grow, and be the amazing being you are.

 

Session Four - A Flower In My Heart

This extraordinary meditation will help you feel whole and open to life. It will help you relax, be creative, and meet your feelings better. I call it the Heart Flower practice, and I can’t wait to share this with you. I’ve shared this practice with hundreds of children in schools over the years, and it changes things for the better very quickly.

 

Session Five - Feeling My Feelings

Our question for today is, ‘How are you feeling?’

Sometimes we don’t know what we are feeling, but we find ourselves doing things almost as if something is pushing us. At other times we have feelings that are so big they don’t feel like they can fit inside us, and sometimes we have feelings we know and understand, some of which are lovely, and some of them hurt. Feelings make our day what it is. Our emotions are some of our most important things, and it is good to learn about them. Learn about how we react and respond, how feelings work and what we can do as they come and go.

 

Session Six - Lighting The LIGHTS

This is one of the most helpful meditations there is. It will put you right into the centre of yourself. Not only that, but it will also help you feel whole, grow, help focus your life energy, and what is most amazing is that all of this is already inside you. I promise you will feel alive, calm, and here as yourself so that you can study, play, be with people, and be on your own in your best, most fantastic self, shining in your full power.

 

Session Seven - Paint Yourself The Heart You Desire

Today’s session is creative; you will need some paper, or a notebook, and colours. You can paint or draw or write during this session. We will return to our heart flower practice, and while meditating together, you can draw or paint what you feel and see inside yourself from your meditation. You might want to sit at a table to flow more easily in your creativity.

 

Session Eight - Dance Yourself The World You Want

No meditating or writing or drawing today in the usual sense.

Instead, we will dance our feelings, which will be our meditation.

This is a brilliant way to feel whole and process your feelings when you are happy, sad, stuck, bored, or don’t know how you feel. This is one of the most fun things I can share with you. This kind of dancing is great to do on your own in your room, with your friends, parents, or guardians. I’ll guide you through the whole thing; get ready to laugh and enjoy your physical self.

Please give yourself plenty of space, and let’s start to move.

 

Session Nine - Two Secrets

Grab your notebook - Today, I want to share my two greatest meditation secrets with you, and I want you to keep these to yourself, so please don’t go sharing them. These secrets are the difference between having a good life or just going along with things the way they always have been. I’m not going to write them here for all to see, and you’ll have to press play to find out. So hit that button.

 

Session Ten - Over to You

In our final session, you are invited to be in your awareness while we have a quick look at our journey so far. Then we will expand our awareness to bring loving kindness to ourselves, the people, animals, and places we love and know. Because of the beauty of your heart, you can allow all of life to be held there, even our wonderful planet and all of time and space. You realise that you are part of the wholeness of life.
